A Gentle Reminder to All Beautiful Brides-to-Be

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

To every bride or would-be bride reading this — I know you have dreams. You’ve imagined your wedding day, how stunning you want to look, how perfect everything should be. You’ve planned, prepared, shopped, and poured in time, money, and effort to make this your most special day. It is a day when all eyes will be on you — the bride, the most beautiful woman in the room.

You’ve made arrangements for the décor, the guests, the photographer, the dress, the mehendi, the jewellery — and you’ve likely made heartfelt duas that everything goes smoothly and exactly as you’ve envisioned.

But...

Sometimes, that’s where the remembrance ends. Many brides forget the One they are making all these duas to — He, too, asks something from them in return: obedience to His commandments.

My dear sisters, this is a gentle reminder — how many brides are conscious of all five daily salah on their wedding day?

A girl who has always been punctual in her prayers — why, on her most important day, does she put makeup or a photography session ahead of salah? What happens to Maghrib and Isha? What about Fajr, the morning after your wedding? Has Allah excused you from your duty to Him because you're a bride?

This is a message from my heart to all of you:

Do not start your new life milestone by displeasing Allah.

Your makeup — those false lashes, false nails, heavy attire — all these may testify against you if they become a reason to miss your salah or delay your obligations.

I pray that your nikah, which completes your deen, becomes a source of Allah’s pleasure. May nothing matter to you more than the pleasure of your Lord.

May you be the most beautiful bride — both outwardly and inwardly.

May your wedding be attended by hundreds of guests and millions of angels.

May the glow of your union shine through your generations. Ameen
